To John & Clam Clam,

Sorry guys, I hadn't realised that MS was actually in there twice. I haven't yet read the book.

It's probably good that the DOJ have finally got their teeth into MS. I admit my bias, but I think that most will understand that current law should be applied to MS. Ferocious competition is fine but MS has gone beyond that for years and been allowed to get away with it.

Because of this it has been an excellent investment. I hope it becomes just a good investment. Will it then still deserve Gorilla status ? I believe so but maybe one or two others in the IT industry will be given a little room.

What does the thread think to my own company's chances; Sun Microsystems ?

Java - Open, yet still owned by Sun.

Solaris - Open, owned by Sun, a great contender in the Intel market space with Intel, NCR, Fujitsu, Siemens and others not yet announced.

SPARC H/W - going like a train in the Server space & not yet suffering significant W/S decline.

Storage - a great emerging Open story.
