It's no secrete that China has interests in expanding its territories,
especially its Manchurian and Mongolian boundaries. They have been
doing it peaceably by shipping in Chinnese laborers for many years
and in effect populating the area. Russia's break-up should eventually
seal the deal---(this is opinion-not based on substative knowledgable)

Kazakstan and the west is a more sensitive area. These country's are
apparently rich with mineral resources and if China were ever to embark
into a major war this would be a logical area for expansion.
Would China use nuclear power to effect there control of a territory....Probably..?
But not a first choice. But here again this is opinion and garnered from
reading and conversations - not from substantive facts.

Perhaps Henry's interests have followed this area.
