And now I see a post from wireless_wonk which makes some corrections. My hat is off to you too, O wireless-wonk. I don't have a clue what the frequency reuse factor is but it obviously cuts the 800 mhz advantage somewhat. Even so, NXTL has a 21% greater call capacity than IS-136 and 70% greater than PCS-1900. Here's what wireless-wonk said:

So per 1000 MHz,

Tony and wireless-wonk, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! For over a year I've been waiting for a decent explanation of why NXTL has beachfront spectrum vs. the other telcos. And now you've provided it. So, assuming that you are right, NXTL will be able to compete with T and FON on both nationwide footprint and market share. What you're suggesting is that NXTL has the U.S. spectrum to be #1 or #2 in digital wireless.
This is information that needs to be put on Yahoo because many of the folks over there do not read SI. With your permission I'll put it over there. Or you can if you prefer.
