>>> Among the most active stocks, shares of REMEC Inc. (REMC - news), the San Diego-based maker of microwave modules, tumbled 6-1/8 to 14-3/4.

A market source cited concerns after a conference call with analysts where a company executive raised some doubts about the ''visibility of demand in the company's commercial business''.

REMEC's modules are used in defense applications and in commercial wireless telecommunications.

After the market close Thursday, REMEC reported earnings of $0.19 per diluted share for the quarter ended April 30, in line with analysts' expectations. REMEC earned $0.11 per diluted share in the first quarter of last year. >>>>
