"Now this one is interesting. Is it in fact true that metering capabilities will need to be built into operating systems? I've never heard that before and I don't understand why it would be true. Could someone else help out with this question? "

The operating system doesn't need to be involved. While it could in the future play a role in assisting metering, it is up to the content provider to Wave-enable his content for pay-per-use, rental, or other transactions (such as purchasing more ammunition for a shoot-em up game) This only applies to the above. Outright ownership is gravy, requiring no changes to the content itself. It requires merely uploading your content to Wave for encryption and assigning pricing information and voila, you're done. They wrap your content in their Self Merchandising Object (SMO) shell and send it back to you. You then ship the SMO on a CD or DVD, put it up on server, etc. for all the world to access.

I believe this to be correct, however, the Spragues may want to clarify.
