Kevin - Re: "Some of the increase is a result of a reduction in transistor density which, as you pointed out, could have been a factor in AMD's yield problems." That would be plausible - except AMD has stated that they increased the number of transistors to 9.3 million, an increase of about 0.5 million over the K6. Thus, the transistor "density" is only changed by 1 or 2 percent - hardly enough to impact design layout marginalities, if they exist. Paul
