Mike Sheridan appointment --- I may be wrong

It might be that the Sheridan appointment was known in advance by a number of people. He could have been scheduled to leave Sun months ago. Perhaps there was even a public announcement. It might even have been old news amongst a lot of people and I missed it. It might simply be a coincidence that the press release announcing his appointment came after the spike the previous day and not before. The two events could be completely unrelated. Perhaps even if no one outside the company knew he was coming it isn't significant because hiring someone is not considered material information of consequence to the company. I'm not a lawyer and I don't know.

I just associated the Slitz announcement last year and the spike then with the current spike.

In any case I want to make it clear that I do not believe that the senior management of Novell especially under Eric Schmidt would ever permit or even tolerate trading on inside information at Novell. It is patently illegal. If they caught someone doing this I think that person would find theselves in a lot of trouble.

So perhaps some of the people that bought some of those 6 million shares yesterday at say 10 3/8ths just before the spike up would care to tell us what happened?
