To all: Volume may have to do with the dividend.
<DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 28, 1998--The Board of Directors of Leah Industries, Inc. (OTC BB:LEAH - news) announced today that it has declared a common stock dividend of one new restricted common share for every 20 common shares held. The dividend is payable to shareholders of record date of June 1, 1998 and payable as of June 30, 1998.>
June 1 or Monday is the record date for the dividend. So maybe you guys were right about short covering before the date the shorters would have to pay the dividend. The volume could be mostly market makers trying to get some interest in LEAH so they can sell their shorts before Monday.
I wonder if market makers get to see news releases before they go out to the public.
