The work that I have been reading up on regarding cytokine signaling is on two fronts: 1) various constitutively active cytokine receptors that have predominantly transmembrane mutations, and 2) situations in which certain viral encoded proteins can activate the platelet derived growth factor receptor (eg, bovine papilloma virus e5 protein). Both types of papers can be obtained using either the medline search capability or the advanced pub med search capability of the NCBI. What a great free service to access biomedical technology. BJ
