.....WMJ...Mark....I'll tell it like it is.
.....As your customer (you own the company), my two week membership is almost up, and tomorrow I will cancel my free membership. Why?
1. I'm unable to search the database using "key words".
2. I've been unable to obtain useful information from the database, due to the limit of 15 hits per search. They are the same hits, if you run more searches, and none were in the fields we needed.
3. The trial program does not provide enough data to evaluate the system (15 hits only gives you junk, no meat). The site is still too new. I'll definitely get back in, when the key word search is available; but, we're not paying $360 for the program, as it sits now, as it is of zero value to us. If I could go there for free, I would not use it, as I don't get good info.
.....Go to the following site for a show of how this program should operate. Tell me what you think! Don't be lazy, dammit, do it!
thomasregister.com
.....These people don't compete with PNLK. They should have come up with this program 2 years ago, but no, they're too old fashioned, too set with their printed references, and the U.S. only website.
4. It is my impression that few, if any companies, are placing FREE PNLK classified ads (I can't believe this). Classified ads ARE searchable using "key words" (works well, if you know how to set up your ad). To search, just input prime words, such as "metal" "tape" "powder", simple easy words that will bring up a huge data base in the Thomas Register, but here, if lucky, you will only receive one or two responses to each. This means that very few people are using this key service, which is not good.
5. When you search the database, and receive a list of potential vendors/customers, there is no information as to the products they manufacture, only the Tel #, sometimes a fax, never an e-mail address. This forces you to spin your wheels, contacting every possible source, when only 5-10% may apply to your needs.
6. There are no links to prospective customer/vendor websites. This is a big mistake, really big.
.....The stock price will rebound when the service is proven to be useful. It is just not there, yet. I would guess that there will be dramatic progress made within the next quarter. I will wait to re-enter (as a customer), until I see that there is value to be had. |
