Terrence, I think you are getting very excited over not very much. If you are such a STUPID bar owner that you are easily given to hysterics, cannot figure out a scenario where there is a room where employees do not go where patrons can smoke, are not willing to run the bar singlehandedly, and do not understand the rightful interest of the state in maintaining the public health, or the ways that low-paid employees with few other opportunities are subtly coerced into risking their lives, then I guess I would say there is not much hope for you!!!
In any event, no economic system is perfect. You have taken a risk, and there is never any guarantee that you will be rewarded. That is capitalism in a nut shell--the state does not owe you a living. On the other hand, good businessmen are generally well rewarded for the risks they take.
In fact, I think you have a persecution complex!! You are no political prisoner, just a guy without the smarts to even understand that it is not smoking in bars that is prohibited, but employee exposure to second-hand smoke. Maybe you should go work on an assembly line somewhere, without so many complex mental challenges!!! |
