Intel Corp. will announce next week that its first 64-bit processor, code-named Merced, will be delayed by about six months to mid-2000. zdnet.com According to the newly communicated schedule, sample volumes of the 64-bit processor are now expected in 1999, with planned production volumes moving from 1999 to mid-2000.
