Fidelity names new managers

Fidelity Investments, the nation's largest mutual fund company,
announced several fund manager changes Friday. Fidelity Select
Electronics Portfolio's (FSELX) manager Andrew Kaplan is stepping
down but will continue managing the Developing Communications
Portfolio (FSDCX). Kaplan is succeeded by Matthew Grech who joined
Fidelity full-time in 1996 as an equity analyst covering the semiconductor
equipment, and other tech industries. Previously, he worked as a mutual
fund accountant and auditor and also interned at Fidelity during the
summer between his first and second years of business school.

Rajiv Kaul will head the Select Biotechnology Portfolio (FBIOX),
succeeding James M. Harmon, who will become a portfolio assistant
and member of a new small-cap equity analyst team. Kaul joined Fidelity
in 1996 as an equity research associate covering the medical devices and
products industries. Associate portfolio manager Trygve Toraasen takes
over the Nordic Fund (FNORX). Former manager Colin Stone will
continue to manage a number of Fidelity international funds not available
to U.S. investors. Finally, Fidelity Germany Fund (FGERX) manager,
Alexandra Edzard will also be managing Fidelity France Fund in a
move that replaces former fund manager Renaud Saleur, who has left
the company.
