How not to get burned on a trade...
When I have been burned in a stock or stock option, it has always been when I have bought at or near the high of the day. In the absence of a great news story, even if the intra day chart looks great I always make sure it breaks through the intra day high solidly before buying because the intraday high seems to be a natural resistance point.

In other words - be careful when buying close to the high of the day.
