Have you noticed that I've restricted myself to discussing violent crime? I'm left with the observation that you're sneaking words into my mouth.

Show me where I've advocated having almost everyone armed. Show me where I've advocated frontier justice. The same accusation applies - you're quoting me saying stuff I never said and don't support. I've always stressed the need for an unyielding adherence to dure process in our courts.

No. It does no such thing. I'm on record as saying that every lawful gun owner is responsible for the safe storage of his gun[s]. This is irreconcilable with the picture you paint of guns casually lying around, easily accessible to toddlers!
Once again, I see you taking my points and distorting them into what they are not. I protest this. It's not fair, and I daresay you know better.
I deduce from the regular occurrence of these systematic realignments of stuff I'm alleged to say that you haven't really understood many of the things I've been trying to say about our society - almost all of them addressed in response to your posts to me. I'm afraid that what you think I said is different from, and colder than, what I've been trying to say.
This might be unattainable, but - I'd appreciate if your replies to my points would actually be to my points. Not to your reinterpretations of my points into something you want to sink your teeth into.
Under these circumstances please accept my withdrawal from the topics of guns, crime violence... because we're stuck. I could strive to reiterate my opinions, but I'd be spinning my wheels at this point, with the only visible product being the distribution of mud. As far as persuasion is concerned, that wasn't my goal. This past few weeks my only aom has been entirely defensive: posts which say "no no nooooh, here is waht I said!"
