Well, we are certainly in agreement on that point.

However, the company that Forbes previewed in that link I provided in the last posting does not need to be calibrated to the individual user.

The sensor measures the decrease in fluorescence of an indicator molecule in the presence of glucose. It compares the fluorescence decay curve in glucose against the normal decay curve, and infers the concentration of glucose based on this change.

The molecule has been chosen (or more likely custom synthesized) because its fluorescence is slowed only in the presence of glucose, and no other compound.

It's my belief that this technology can supplant both real-time and "occasional" blood glucose monitors.
