I think saying this is good for Alpha would be a little too optimistic. Alpha was doing poorly before Merced and the delay wouldn't make much of a difference. If anyone, this should benefit SUNW a lot and perhaps SGI a little. Probably IBM AS400 would get a longer life as well.
