Funny - Nacchio just a few weeks ago responded to this very question with a definitive 'QWST doesn't NEED Ciena or ANYONE's DWDM', and didn't see this likely for *quite* some time. I would assume the same is true for LVLT and WMB whose high capacity fiber systems will likely not justify the muxing cost for a good while. This is QWST's case for what distinguishes the NEW guys (predominantly QWST) from old WCOM, T and FON fiber systems..

Or did I miss something here?

It seemed CIEN began it's retreat when WCOM delayed deployment, LIKELY to see just what LU had up it's sleeve with their then recently announced 80x.
