jg, too much is being made of this delay. HWP/SGI have alternate PentiumII Xeon products planned. Without knowing if the initial version of the Merced is slower or same performance as a "high end" pentiumII, the cross over between the PentiumII and Merced is in essence mute. Remember the merced was supposed to be x86 compatible. And expecting the same number of applications and OS support as x86 in the next 5 years for merced is a pipe dream. Stockman
