Claude,,, I can tell you for fact,,,,AN AUGER DOESN"T WORK in stream bed alluvial deposits. Those bleeping round rocks get stuck in the blades and the boulders just jamb the whole thing until the hydraulic pressure builds up, then the pressure b-ipass cuts in or the engine stalls. " Placer is different " ........Claude,,,,I would like to get you into the field for a week.......Everything that you never thought of goes wrong!
