Mike, Thanks for your reply. I expect DuPont to make substantial acquisitions in the immediate future because of their stated ambition to be in Life Sciences businesses. If they were to grow the business in-house, it would take too much time to reach their objective especially if Monsanto and Novartis don't sit still and continue to buy out promising Life Sciences candidates.

As an investor looking for opportunities, I'm curious about the Life Sciences concept. With plant gene technology integrating into pharmaceuticals, I am wondering if this concept is the birth of a new shift in direction combining pharmaceuticals with food products and plant biotechnology, where the drug companies will feel it necessary to merge or acquire companies that may end up growing new drugs for specific maladies or treatments (Pfizer's reported interest in Monsanto as an example.), or if it is solely a means for cyclical chemical companies to move into a high margin/earnings environment.

Would appreciate your thoughts.

Regards,
Bob

P.S. By the way, I finally took the plunge on playing MU. Bought Jan 20's puts.
