I think the INTC announcement about delays in Merced is extremely bullish for SUNW and IBM.

In the medium 1-2 yr. term I certainly agree the delay has the potential to increase revenues for Sun and IBM servers. Especially Sun, since they are more and more becoming the best at doing large servers. In the real world, this is surely a blow to the Wintel camp.

However, what will happen on Monday? That's a very different question. It's possible that the big boys will dump the sector en masse again, tarring everybody, even SUNW, with the Merced brush. Of course it doesn't make any sense; SUNW should gap up while all Wintel server OEM captives should suffer. But since when does the market's handling of SUNW make sense?

Regards,
