but indexing does make reasonable sense at or near a market bottom when everyone is terrified, right? If things are dire -- many companies could still go belly up and if you have limited ability to get info to pick among the wreckage ... At least this has been my reasoning on buying (sometimes trading) the WEBs and discounted CE's (Course we both own one that is not trading at a discount -- different story altogether there as foreigners have a limited ability to participate).
