OFF TOPIC: DRD: You confirmed my observations about the unemployment situation. The FOMC has not said anything openly about the change in the statistical basis but they seem to still be using the historical perspective of unemployment rate vs inflation pressure. Another Clinton administration spin is the consumer price index. This is based on a typical shopping cart price for groceries. Used to be steak was one of the items. When inflation caused steak to be too expensive people bought chicken so the CPI "standard" became chicken. Now what is it? Hot dogs?
