thanx for the link to the yahoo post! good to see wave getting more press. it really deserves it. one part that caught my eye:
===
Now MSC <sic> which is 10% owned by Intel and is one of only 2 companies which dominate world supply of a particular type of chip used by computer giants such as Compaq,Dell,IBM and Hewlett Packard, has agreed to incorporate the Wavemeter into key chips. High volume commercial supplies should be reasdy early next year.........More news is expected. There are rumours that other big names could become involved, including perhaps the other leading makers of such chips....

as soon as i heard of the SMSC deal, i thought that the spragues had scored bigtime because if they convinced them, national semi is either already online or just around the corner. let's not forget peter sprague's former life :) i've seen reports that put SMSC's share of I/O controllers at ~40% and for some reason i rember thinking that the top two suppliers (SMSC and NS) made up ~80%. if we throw in winbond, there can't be many motherboards we've missed :) all we need is pete to come through for us with nat semi and then for the boardmakers to actually integrate the enhanced chips.

forever long and loving it....
