Thanks for pointing out the problem. We're trying to make the search screen more useful by pulling up links to quotes, charts, profiles, etc...whenever possible, whether you type in the company name or ticker symbol.

I failed to test enough cases. I believe I have fixed the problem you are referring to. A search on Ashton will now pull up [as it should] all subjects with the word "Ashton", and will not revert to the ticker symbol. You'll still get a quote link to Ashton Technology though, as that's our best guess as to which company you're looking for.

The only case where it will still revert to a ticker symbol is if the company name does not result in any "hits". For example Tellabs has a subject called "TLAB Info" and not "Tellabs". If you type in Tellabs, it will change to TLAB.

Hopefully this is a return to simplicity.
