GLB's future branches

Peter, they have a very interesting branch strategy.

They plan to expand their reach primarily through ATM's and kiosk banks sometimes called plug and play banks.

Soon after launching they'll be installing 2 local ATM's and one each in popular gay night clubs in New Orleans, South Beach, Atlanta, Dallas, and San Francisco. These ATM's will be in high traffic clubs and have commercial drop boxes for the club owner's to make nightly deposits which will be fed-exed out the next morning. The sites are rent free and secure, and the ATM's will service both retail and commercial customers. They'll be a traffic builder for the clubs they're in. Many more sites are on their target list.

The second level of remote site banking will be kiosk or plug and play banks. Similar to the branches you see in grocery stores. There are several very large gay clubs in this country. Some do 45k customers on a weekend. They'll have a 10x10 space in the lobby with an operator to handle full service banking. Book stores are other potential sites for kiosk branches also.

There are some pretty big circuit parties that tour the country, also. They'll have an ATM van to service that market.

This is where GLB's choice of NCR as their technology partner and service provider will pay off. NCR is the leading provider of ATM's globally and neck and neck with Diabold domestically. NCR's efforts to assemble the infrastructure for internet banking and integrate it with smart ATM's sets up the future for low cost distribution of full service internet banking. NCR is collecting everything it needs to bring web banking into the home and retail traffic locations.

You would not believe the deal Stephen got on the old Dean Witter Building in downtown Pensacola. 8500 sf, 41 offices, $75,000 annual lease. They can take the bank to about $3bil with this facility.

There are 2 other traditional banks that just moved in on that street within a block. One of them, Horizon Bank, is spending a fortune remodeling their building. They have no idea that the future of banking is right down the street from them.
