Walt and Paul -
A lot of ATMs and other bank systems use OS2 as a display system but the financial stuff is handled by Tandem in 2 out of 3 cases worldwide, more in the US. That's why your money goes through the way it ought to. OS2 is actually a pretty good PC OS but is way too unreliable to do EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) - it has reliability of about 99.9 (Unscheduled downtime of about 9 hours a year) Versus Tandem's 99.999 (about 5 seconds a year).
