Hi Lisa, btw there is a chance you might be taken to the woodshed for your use of the term "the Japs". Some Japanese take offense; for instance a mini flame war broke out on an SI thread last year over someone using that term. It relates to the idea that "Jap" was a term used with a negative conotation during WWII.

In no way was my post meant to disparage Japanese people of today, just in case anyone got that impression. Indeed my aunt would be very disappointed and hurt if I did so.

I'm getting confused too, I thought Michael Jordan might be the whoremonger. -GG-

In a note relating to my earlier post, the USS Missouri is now in port in Astoria, Oregon; about 90 miles from here. It's only there for a few days, and they are allowing 125 people aboard at once, unguided to roam the battleship on certain few decks. Included is the deck on which General MacArthur signed the Surrender document with Japan, ending our conflict with Japan in WWII. There are huge traffic jams going into Astoria, and the waiting line to board the ship takes between 2-1/2 to over 3 hours long to get through. So far everyone who has been quoted coming off the ship say it's worth the wait.

I'm sure you found that very interesting, lisa. ;-) LOL
