Jonathan:

By your telling me an "idiot" does not make me one. You certainly fall into the category of American illiterates forming opinions without knowledge.

Let me tell you that it was a serious mistake on the part of the USA to arm Pakistani dictators (like they did in Iran, and then Iraq), betraying the American democratic principles, to maintain Pakistani military parity with a staunchly democratic India. Pakistan waged wars against India to seize more of the Indian territory, consistent with the American/British plan to Balcanize India. Then the Chinese took over Tibet and began marching south.

India was forced to seek Russian military help to maintain her territorial integrity. The first Indian Prime Minister Nehru was an outstanding champion of democracy and non-alignment, abhorred communism and sought a common purpose with democratic countries like the USA. Only recently did the US Congress recognize Nehru to give him a tribute for his contribution to democracy for a sixth of human race.

Incidentally, you are ignorant of the fact that the Ronald Reagan Administration only reversed the American anti-India policy despite Reagan's abhorrence of Communists. This happened after Reagan met with Indira Gandhi and correctly assessed that a democratic India never was and would never be an ally of Communists except, per force, to maintain her territorial integrity. The main threat to India's territorial integrity originated from an ill-conceived American policy which Reagan reversed.

It is really ironical that with all the American preaching for democracy, the USA always befriended third-world dictators and never came to terms with the world's largest stable democracy.
