The GENROCO TURBOstor DVP-2732 PCI Digital Video Broadcast (DVB) controller interfaces PCI
based computers to various DVB devices (including other DVP-2732 and DVB-270P controllers). This
intelligent controller has a very efficient, patented architecture designed for the highest possible
throughput of data between the host computer and the video subsystem while employing a minimal
amount of CPU overhead. Each DVP-2732 is capable of sustaining aggregate transfer rates up to 270
Mbits per second.
High bandwidth data transfers are a requirement for many image processing applications including video
on demand, video database editing, cable head, and satelite link.
Firmware for DVB controller or communications interface applications can be dynamically loaded from
the PCI host platform.
The DVP-2732 has a peak data rate of 270 megabits (27 megabytes) per second. The sustainable
throughput across the PCI bus will vary depending on the configuration. As many as 60 to 70 MPEG2
streams at 3 megabits per second each can be supported.
