Here's another interesting processor story:

news.com

Food for thought.....if IDTI also jumps into the fray with their C6+ this fall (assuming they find a box-maker that will use it), prices will fall even further.......which in my mind says that this coming Christmas season will be the "Mother of all Christmases" for computer sales, including first-time buyers, and users that want to up-grade to a cheap ($600-$800) 266-333 mhz class box. Tis true that margins will likely be lower, but I'm assuming that most of that will come out of the uP makers' hides.

Potential investment opportunities (IMO) include CPQ, and HP among the popular box-makers. A long-shot might be CompUSA which is having increased success selling its in-house "Design your own" systems.

Also, who in the monitor mfg. business is likely to benefit from a gang-buster season? It will probably also pump life into the now-limp disk-drive sector. My tack will be to wait till Sep. to jump into these stocks and ride the fall-winter run-up.

Any pros or cons will be appreciated.......lets see if we can analyze the potential, put together a plan, and make a few bucks!!

Regards,

Knip
