"didn't execute well"

What are you smoking? E-Trade has done execellent from a financial perspective. They have increased EPS and cash flows exactly as they said they would every quarter since the IPO. E-Trade is making money, whereas other copycats like Ameritrade are not. Just because the stock price doesn't yet reflect it doesn't mean that E-Trade didn't execute. You need to seperate financial and stock market performance in your mind. Sometimes the market is a little illogical. The long term survivors will be the ones that can make money while consistently increasing their customer base like E-Trade. Ameritrade's strategy is already beginning to bite them in the butt.
