Windstar (WCII) today announced that it's WCII wireless subsidiary has been granted an additional license in the 38GHZ band by the FCC. The license is for 100MHZ. (50MHZ in each direction, for a total of 100MHZ)In Stamford Conn, which is the 29th largest MSA in the country.WCII already has 30 licenses encompassing four 100MHZ channels each in 29 of the top 31 markets in the US, and licenses encompassing one 100MHZ channel in each in 11 additional markets. This brings WCII total number of 38GHZ licenses to 42, covering the top 31 MSAs and 41 of the top 45 MSAs.WCII provides wireless local telecommunications services. Winstar Wireless is a competitive access provider which delivers it's wireless fiber (SM) (last mile) telecommunications services to long distance carriers,competitive access providers, mobile communications companies local telephone companies, end users,and other customers with broadband local communications needs.WCII has licenses in the 38GHZ bamd in 41 of the top 45 MSAs in the USA, including the top 31 MSAs.WCII Gateway Network Inc. provides long distance telephone service to businesses and individual customers throughout the US.
