Linux Drawing Corporate Backers
..."We have noticed Linux is reaching critical mass stage where it is in a real take-off mode," said Michael C.J. Cowpland, President and CEO of Corel Corp. "We see it to a point now where it is just going to avalanche."
Corel's software side is also writing applications to Linux, he said.
"There is a tremendous amount of commercial activity," Cowpland said during a break at the 4th Annual Linux Expo at Duke University. "A year ago, some people had only one potential customer and now they have huge potential of customers lining up to put in tens of thousands of seats. It's really happening."
