If you plot the strength of the dollar against SOX there seems to be a pretty good inverse correlation. Maybe what we need is a stronger yen and a weaker dollar before we see any return to semi stocks. Currently we are in "profitless prosperity" because of the strength of the dollar. The most recent tankola of the semis may be as much due to the nearterm rise in the dollar as anything. Any thoughts on the direction of the dollar?
