There is a lot you and I don't know about the situation.
You seem to think I'm taking sides or down on India,
or the people there , and I'm not. I don't wish to take this
to a personal level or turn the tread into a political one.
I think you have misunderstood what I was getting at.
I'll send you a privet message that I hope will clear up why
I feel strongly towards non proliferation.
BTW I've worked with Indian Crews on
ships , and still have some friends in India. I think I understand
most of their disappointments with their own Government, and
some of the other ordeals they have to undergo. My concern is at
least as strong about the Nukes in Pakistan if not stronger. And even
more concern in general about the criminal element that thrives in exploiting resentments and profiteering in weapons.
And BTW My Grandmother was full blooded Native American, I know
more about the real history of the plight of the Native Americans
than the average person, there was good and bad on both sides
of that , as there is with most issues.
I do not know of any government that does not have a degree of
Dr, Jekell and Mr Hyde in them , nor any person who is without
sin. To express my general feelings in a way that would not be
misunderstood would take a book. Simply stated I do not personally
want the right to strap on some nukes so that if anyone offends
me I can blow up the world. And I don't want that right extended
to others, or to Governments. I feel in due time if Proliferation
continues it takes us down that road.
Keep in mind I also said "that any one who is not confused about
the situation over there, or thinks they have a handle on it, don't
really understand much about it." that's a long way from setting
my self up as God
I'll send you a privet message , I feel if we take this any further
on this tread we could easily get into an unending debate that
takes this thread to far away from it's topic, or we could perhaps
move it to the Asia thread ?
