Kenith, Ali, & Yousef,

Well, the proof is in the pudding! Intel took the PII to 300 Mhz with their 0.35u process and it looks like they will be able to make it to at least 450 Mhz with their 0.25u process. AMD took the K6 to 233 Mhz (with great difficulty) with their 0.35u process. With the speed grades available with the release of the K6-2, I think it is going to be very hard for AMD to get to 400 Mhz with their 0.25u process. At any rate, AMD will be able to do at least 350 Mhz with their 0.25u process, so it appears that AMD's 0.25u process is at least 50 Mhz better than Intel's 0.35u process (not just as bad). Of course, this does not consider differences in processor architecture or physical design expertise.

Also, didn't one of the Intellabees bet that AMD wouldn't be able to hit 350 Mhz by the end of the year?

Pravin.
