I could feel the excitement at Waves booth at E3. I believe the SMSC deal was one of many homers coming. According to the guys at Wave, the players in mother boards are:
Standard 35-40%
National 35-40%
ITE 25%

Wave has picked off Standard. I guess we can 'assume' that they have had discussions with the others. I am making this assumption.

The key sentence from the press release is the quote from Hollingsworth, the VP of Marketing for SMSC. He states "Our customers have expressed strong interest in the Wave technology". Anyone that thinks SMSC is going into this thing on the 'hopes' of selling Wave enabled IC products is not looking very closely. Read between the lines here. There are PC companies interested and lined up already. I would suspect that we will have PR's in the near future announcing PC companies that will include WaveMeters in their products.

Wave Meters are extremely easy to use. Wave had a baseball game from EA and I believe it was Jack Nicholas Golf set up on meters. Pricing models for the content will be set up by the content providers. For the purpose of the show, the golf game was set up on a time based model. $ for minute of play, $ for 10 minutes, $ for 1/2 hour.....you get the picture. The game could have been set up on a cost per stroke. It seems like infinite possibilities are available.

I see a HUGE application for Wave's products in the Interactive Entertainment
business. I believe gamers will FLOCK at the opportunity of paying to sample games before their potential purchase. I envision Wave getting a piece of what will be come a LARGE arcade on the internet. Of course, this will not happen overnight.

The Wired article is a bunch of crap. It slants Wave's Meter as a one dimensional application....metering. Hello? Anyone home upstairs at Wired?
You can rent it, try it and buy it with Wave's Meter. Where did Wired find the dope analysts for the article? These guys clearly have no vision. The critical mass is coming. You don't just go from zero to 100% in one fell swoop. SMSC is one step in that direction.

Now that I have seen the Wave Meter in action I am more convinced than ever that Wave has a winning model.

What happens to the stock price short term is anyones guess. We have gone up very quickly. I would suspect that we level off a bit. Long term I am convinced Wave is going to be a Super Star in my portfolio. It is already a star.(G)
