Ojai, I do some day trading and some short term trading depending on the stock, the day, etc. The alarm function idea is a good one I hadn't thought of. I usually set it after I purchase. With respect to getting a good execution, I'm using DLJ Direct and have had a few problems but overall their executions are very quick and accurate. Though they have had a few very bad ones which they didn't agree were bad and there was nothing I could do. I had the bid/ask right on my screen at the time the trades were executed and they told me I was wrong when they checked the time and sales.

If you are using this system(pcquote) and day trading, the one thing I have noticed time and again is that when the RSI on the chart is below 50 the stock usually goes nowhere or down. The reverse is also true. I'm not saying always but more often than not.
