RE: I've been searching for the answer as I look to re-enter a stock I bought at 13 (pre split) and sold at ($100)

should that be (26) (pre split) unless you bought a long long time ago?

Well if AMAT loses money you may get your wish. BUT that one time charge did mean 1000 fewer people and so there is a fair bit of SG&A savings. Plus it is likely that logic will continue to be quite strong esp. in next couple of quarters. And processors may see a pick up as well towards late October or so.

Current estimates are 0.26 for Q4. I do agree the well is kinda empty in terms of new orders for some segments but as of right now I find it tough to believe that AMAT will lose money in Q4. It certainly could happen - have not looked into things in greater detail - first waiting for the 26... then I'll look into it...(what saved them last time was that in spite of DRAM glut the Koreans continued to build, what might save them this time is the Taiwanese foundry spending continues.)

shane.
