Judy,
Nice to hear from you again, I agree that the days of huge profits and high prices are over for all the PCers until somthing comes along that really propels the need for new PC's.
As for DELL, I was unaware that the new server market was so key to INTC's chip. For the Co, this segment was the new cash cow for them using their model to wow customers. The difference between DELL and the other PC makers is their model. INTC made inrows because they are a monopoly, they named whatever price they wanted, and not it is looking like their processes were not as profitable as they coudl have been. Monopolies are great when the market is prime, this isnt anything new to you of course, but DELL has a process advantage, this in itself will sustain the company compared to the industry. Even in a slowdown, DELL will be healthy versus the competition. As I mentioned, the industry in average has gone nowhere, less a company or two, so even if DELL does not propel to new highs and split again (Which I still say they will this year) It will be above the industry average as far as performance.
Also knowing Mikey D, the delay wont be as long or as bad versus what it could be.
I know you follow DELL on a regular basis, I value the insight you have.
Anyone seen OJ, did he go bankrupt or somthing?
Take care.. |
