Digital would have gladly re-badged an Alphaserver with a Compaq label or Samsung could have designed and built Compaq boxes. There is always a slim chance that the DEC shareholders could turn down the acquisition and those chances seem to be improving based on the phone calls shareholders are receiving from DEC board representatives and the second letter being sent out by Palmer. Should it be turned down who will be the first to approach DEC for 64 bit servers? Compaq? Dell? Gateway? HP? IBM? Robin
