DD - This morning report on CNBC: money seems to be moving out of tech sector (Intel delay of Merced and other jitters) and going into bonds, consumer stocks, and utilities. Small cap stocks are paying for it. Looking at the number of posts on SI y2k thread, people have either moved their money out of these stocks, or given up their hopes of short term gains. This downturn in y2k sector seems to add fuel to the short position: the world will survive the y2k disaster with ease.
I agree with those that want a public event (disaster) due to y2k non-compliance to get the attention. Personally, I do not wish for disasters anywhere, but the y2k problem needs more attention. Ram
