Doesn't a CCD produce an analog signal which is converted to a digital signal?

My 8mm camcorder uses analog tape for recording. And my digital camera uses a CCD that produces a digital signature. So there has to be a "converter" somewhere in the circuit.

Either way you must store the images and no matter how small the capturing device may be, the storage medium is crucial. Is that mentioned in the article? CompactFlash or MMC "shud b" a perfect fit. I personally would not use a camera the size of a watch unless I was a private detective or the like.
