Be careful you are not confusing apples and oranges.
I remember commodore, atari, and Tandy. I was vp of Krell software at the time and programed on all three. If you're 31, the age of my son, maybe you used our SAT prep, logo, or game programs.
Commodore survived in Europe for a long time
Tandy got beat by IBM et. al. the way Netscape will be beat by MSFT and had too many fingers into too many pies.
Atari made mistakes.
Apple well.....
In each case they got killed by their own management mistakes -- and the entry of huge players -- yes that could happen to SEEK. I think it's happening to xcit and Netscape -- Only time will tell.
1st, SEEK is not a third Tier Company because you say it is..
SEEK, imho, is more like hp which never made successful micros, but owns the printer market. SEEK knows who and where the impt. customers are. -- But analogies don't really work pro or con. And hardware is not software -- almost everybody disappeared (or were bought out at a profit). It's all a guessing game!!!
All I can tell you for sure is I used IBM asap. and I bought SEEK because I USE IT. Krell Software survived as long as it had the best product. Atari and Commodore, Lotus and Visicalc, Dumont and Bowman, as long as they had the best product.
SEEK, I believe, understands that above all. People buy Apples and Oranges when they are fresh and taste good. Beware of false comparisons. Gates, may not have had the best product, but he had the best marketing plan, and the easiest to use product. (Which at the time made it the REALITY best although the techies and applemaniacs never understood that software ease of use was more important than hardware ease of use.
Try each search engine in terms of ease of use to get response and RECCOMEND it.
