I read about the Colorado Springs cancellation in the offering document for their debt deal in October (a one sentence mention), well before they discussed it publicly. The story SRCM presented to analysts at the end of 1997 was their positive spin on it.
Also, according to an interview with Century (formerly Cablevision) VP Bill Shreffler conducted by the Colorado Springs Gazette-Telegraph, The Interactive Channel was dropped because it never lived up to expectations for subscribers. The article entitled "After failing to dent market, Interactive Channel to sign off," appeared in the Feb. 5, 1998 edition on page 6 of the business section. The author of the story is Rich Laden.
But, regardless, we can both agree that The Interactive Channel will not succeed with a separate box. Its viability when integrated with an existing set-top box is still to be determined. Even then, I would think that you would be more interested in the virtual modem than the IC.
I appreciate the work on the warrants. It is nice that we can disagree, but still exchange useful information.
