Your reasoning is a convenient -- but, of course foolish -- tautology. MSFT is so big that they dominate. How do they dominate? Because they're so big. Duh! Ask yourself WHY they dominate in the first place. Because they evolved existing technology to a new level of usability. Invested in channels. Acted smarter and faster than the competition. Now, does the DoJ let them enjoy the fruits of taking those risks and succeeding? Of course not. Why? Well, er, um.... competition. Yeah, that's it. Their success stifles competition. Should we take away Michael Jordan's Nike's? After all, he's dominating out there. Not fair for those poor Pacers (or, soon, Jazz!). After all, Jordan is just using his dominance to bull the refs and the other players. Not fair.
