Not one for too much religious talk Pat but I will say the first of one side of my line came over here (North America) as an indentured servant, then sold to the shipping industry as a "slave" - it took him more or less 10 yrs to regain his freedom.
By the way just to stir this pot (LOL) the other half of the same line.. much later of course, fought for the south.....out of 13 - 4 died (three in the same battle!) & the two older girls were taken from the farm by northern soldiers - never to been seen or heard of again.
By the way - just to clarify - that bunch never owned slaves, didn't beleive in it, but still fought for the south.
Not sure what all this rambling means - But, I will say Lisa's view of love it or leave it has alot of merit. Also, even though we are each entitled to our our view - the comes time when we have to support our country, gov't etc. even though we don't agree with all of it's judgements, persons, etc. and change from within, peacefully whenever possible.....
As for the sick @SSHOLES who blow up babies and other innocents to prove a point in any country, anywhere in the world....they should be dealt with as deftly, harshly as possible here on earth & I for one am sure that they will be dealt with afterlife in an appropriate measure... A little religion here - but I personally have to beleive thisor I might turn into a vengence hunter....
