I would look for them to bundle at least SQL and proxy using the same argument - it already happened with SBS. If they really integrated significant browser support into the OS then Netscape and others could write a light weight app that used those services and it would have all the same benefits as IE. Don't look for that any time soon...

When the first version of windows came out it was so lame everyone had to tear it apart, and that resulted in a lot of add-ons that were a lot better than the built-ins. Maybe people should work a little harder at breaking apart Win98 and doing the same thing - if enough people did that the platform would belong to the app developers and not to MS. Of course then MS could rev it to break the apps... unless the information was available in a form that MSFT did not control.
